Sports massage therapy
Sports and Remedial Massage is a term that covers different forms of massage and advanced soft tissue therapy. The treatment also includes specific advice as part of an ongoing plan to reduce pain and to prevent further reoccurrence of the problem.
Massage is an effective hands on treatment for:
- Neck and shoulder pain
- Repetitive strains injuries
- Postural imbalances
- Knee pain
- Arthritic conditions
- General aches and tension
There are many different causes of pain and discomfort including trauma, muscular imbalance, repetitive strain through work or sport, or general tension due to mental or physical stress.
As advanced practitioners, we are able to provide a clinical assessment and effective treatment as well as an ongoing plan. This may include further regular treatments in the clinic and/or a self-care rehabilitation plan (homework!) for you to continue afterwards. This is designed to provide further improvements and a safe return to normal activity or sport.
We hold Level 5 Diplomas in Sports and Remedial Massage Therapy, which is the highest level of qualification available in the UK. We have many years of experience treating a wide range of conditions and we attend various update courses each year for our continuing professional development (CPD).
We recommend a 60 minute initial appointment as it will involve a consultation and physical and postural assessment followed by an appropriate massage treatment.
